Quick Release Roof Top Tent Mount

Some of the best customer service I have experienced! I have an outdated roof rack system on my vehicle which has led to some road bumps with installing the mounting system. Michael has continued to provide timely support to help me trouble shoot/resolve the issues.

Michael, CEO, finally contacts me after receiving a one start review. Started that he didn’t see my email.

I sent again the photos to Michael, and it was very obvious by my description, and photos that there was no way to secure the locking pins. His only response was, “Did you mean the overhang”?
It was very obvious that I never said anything about overhang. I again provided another explanation of the problem, and then Michael, self proclaimed caring customer focused CEO, has never again responded.

Don’t bother spend money on these brackets. You have a 50% chance of working for your install. If it doesn’t work, Michael, CEO, plays dumb.

Overall, these quick release tent mounts are a great product. The build quality is excellent – sturdy, reliable, and they make removing and reinstalling my rooftop tent a much quicker and easier process. They hold everything securely with slight rattling, even on rough terrain.

The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the included mounting system wasn’t directly compatible with my FreeSpirit tent. I had to make a few minor modifications to get everything to work properly, which involved spending more money for new bolts and washers. It wasn’t a huge issue, but something to be aware of if you’re using a FreeSpirit setup.

Still, once installed, they’ve performed flawlessly. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a fast and convenient tent mounting solution—just double-check compatibility with your specific tent first. Michael has also been a huge help and communication has been superb. Thank you!

I bought a set of these in January 2024, that have held up on the roughest off-road trails, and tens of thousands of miles. Taking the tent off used to be a hour affair and now with these (and the help of a repurposed deer hoist) it’s ten minutes or less. If time is money these things pay themselves off at the first use. You get exactly the build quality you pay for with them.

I recently purchased the Hard Impact Designs Quick Release Mount for my Roofnest Condor XL rooftop tent, and I’m very happy with it. Installation was simple, even for a DIY novice like me. Much easier than the original mounts that came with my tent. Once installed, the mounts and tent are incredibly sturdy, with no noise or rattling when I tested it on normal roads. The customer service was outstanding; I mistakenly ordered the single-channel lower brackets instead of the double-channel ones I needed, but Michael was quick to respond, made the exchange seamless, and answered all my questions promptly before and after the purchase. I highly recommend this mount for anyone seeking a reliable, easy-to-use solution!
